Our Christian Faith

Although we are an Anglican (Church of England) church, many of our members come from other backgrounds. We seek to deepen our love and faith in Jesus Christ and, as we are able, to respond to all in our community with love, care and service.

Much of our recent teaching has been building on two key bible verses “Love your neighbour as yourself and with all your soul and with all your mind” and “Love the Lord your God with all your heart (Matthew’s gospel chapter 22 verse 37- 9) and “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew’s gospel chapter 28 verse 19)

  • Worship

.           to honour the presence of the Lord among us
.           to offer worship in a variety of styles that enable as many as possible to meet with God
.           to encourage people to want to come and worship

  • Evangelism

.          to encourage all church members to be witnesses to Christ in an appropriate style
.          to present Christ to all who live in the area and those who attend from outside it
.          to support evangelism in the area and wider church

  • Mission

.         to support by prayer, interest and finance the work of God in the wider world
.         to look for and send those who are called by God to work in the wider church / world

  • Pastoral Care

.         to demonstrate the love of God to all both inside and outside the church
.         to support those with particular needs in appropriate ways (spiritually and materially)
.         to use all God’s resources in helping people towards wholeness

Some see “being a Christian” as something you “are” or “aren’t” depending on your upbringing. But Christianity can be described as growing in a relationship with God which we would love to help anyone understand and grow in. We recognise that we all can grow here by reading the bible, praying, supporting each other and serving our community.
