Steve grew up in Hove (hence is delighted at the success of Brighton & Hove Albion), moved to Hampstead to work in a bank, then to study at Trinity College in Bristol, which led to ordination and a curacy in Fulham. From there, he returned to Bristol with a view to establishing a church in what was to become Bradley Stoke. A little while after CTK was built, he had to retire on medical grounds (M.E.) but was able to return to work part time after 8 years as volunteer support co-ordinator for inHope, a Christian charity in Bristol for homeless and other disadvantaged people, until retirement.
Steve is happily married to Liz with three boys, one of whom lost his battle with leukaemia aged 19, the other two are married and living in Gloucester (with two grandchildren) and York respectively.
He enjoys: wood turning; volunteering with a foodbank; “exploring days” (National Trust/English Heritage/museums/art galleries/nature et al); Roman history; music of various hues; Brighton & Hove Albion; sport generally, especially cricket ; detective fiction (TV and written); Terry Pratchett; reading generally, amongst other things.
